Owls are fascinating birds of prey. I have not seen one in person, but the photograph of this nocturnal bird that I saw was too good to be not tried as a painting. Painting those feathers tested my patience, and what was supposed to be a fun hobby was turning me scowl faced. Just when I thought I couldn’t get any grumpier, a worn-out brush came to the rescue. For all those aspiring young painters, never discard an old tool. You never know when they can bail you out of trouble. The ragged bristles created those marks as if they were custom like a custom splayed for this painting.
- Female owls are larger, heavier and more aggressive than the males. They are also more richly coloured and have a higher voice.
- An owl has 3 eyelids- one for blinking, one for sleeping and one for keeping its eyes clean.
