You cannot dodge the truth for too long. The sooner you address the elephant in the room, the better.

The eyes that speak

Elephant’s eyes speak the most incredible language. In fact, they can convey so many feelings without a word. But, that is not the most challenging part of an elephant painting. The trunk is. At least, to me. Unfortunately, there is no way you can get around this challenge, too, especially when you are painting a close-up of an elephant face. It was the proverbial elephant in the room that had to be addressed, sooner than later.

Glad I managed to address it, and the 3D effect on the canvas was well worth the struggle.

Fun Facts about elephant:
Their trunks are perhaps the most sensitive organ found in any mammal – Asian elephants have been seen to pick up a peanut, shell it, blow the shell out and eat the nut.

Elephants can’t jump.
