In the Gray Zone
The truth always lives in the gray zone between the binaries. One is Not the Enemy of Zero is the bhaskART way of saying it.
One is Not the Enemy of Zero explores the gray zones that sit between the obvious answers.
We live in a world of contrasts. Light and darkness. Surface and depth. Success and failure. Progress and stillness. We are taught to pick a side, to choose a half, to resolve the tension
One is Not the Enemy of Zero is for anyone who has ever felt that the real answer lies somewhere between black and white.
The Story Behind the Book
This book did not begin with a grand plan. It began with a nudge from my mother — “Why don’t you write a book?”
At the time I had no answer. What I did have was paint, brushes, and canvas. Many of the thoughts in these pages began at the easel. A brush would pause in midair and a question would rise. Why do we insist on seeing opposites as rivals? Why do we look for sharp borders when life so often unfolds in gradients?
One is Not the Enemy of Zero is where those questions found their home.
From Readers Who Stayed Till the Last Page
‘One is not the enemy of Zero’ shows us that the best parts of life are usually in the middle ground. He weaves in art, philosophy, and personal stories to say it’s ok in not having all the answers. If you have been in situations of being forced to choose sides, this book will show you the freedom in embracing uncertainty and probably coming up with a new side.
‘One is not the Enemy of Zero’ is a gem that swerves in and out of paintings as muses, blending insights from the corporate world with reflections on life’s existential questions. Bhaskar pulls you into a world where art and business wisdom come together in surprising ways. Makes for a warm and inviting weekend read.
A breezy read that’s like food for thought. Deep but distinct. This short read that you can finish during an average office commute leaves you ruminating and looking out at the world that goes by in a new light.
You don’t have to be wrong for me to be right. You don’t have to agree to my review. 🙂
A short and interesting narration of viewing life beyond one vs another binaries. Each painting by the author in the book beautifully depicts the chapter’s essence. Overall, a visually engaging and thought provoking read.

This book offers a fresh perspective on a long-held belief: that it’s okay not to choose a side, even though we are taught to do so from childhood. It is an excellent and easy-to-read book that I thoroughly enjoyed
In a polarized world, “One is not the enemy of Zero” is a fresh persepctive. This book brilliantly argues that the richest parts of life exist not in the black and white, but in the grey areas we’re often taught to avoid. Through a beautiful blend of art, philosophy, and personal insight, Bhaskar, the author, invites us to find peace and power in the “in-between.” If you’ve ever felt pressured to be a 1 or a 0 (I have been there!) this book will show you the magic that happens when you choose not to pick. Truly a thought-provoking read.
